I truly can not say enough about the beauty of Miss M.!  Seriously, she is not only beautiful on the outside but on the inside as well and I am so impressed by her accomplishments in life at such an early age.  She is a recent graduate of Ithaca College studying Music and Theatre.  She currently has 3 auditions nation-wide for some awesome theatre and opera performance opportunities.  Her sweetness and kindness poured out during our session together and having her Mother there  just added to the great experience.  Her Mom gave me insight into Miss M’s life each time that she left the room for clothing changes, I can’t tell you how much I love hearing life stories, it also let’s me get to know them better during the shoot and Mom’s are always willing to share their stories because they are so proud!

High School Senior Portraits

October 31, 2011

There was time to fit one last outdoor High School Senior session in and we had a beautiful day to do it!!  It seems as though all of the Seniors that contact me are just the most awesome peeps, they all have a drive inside themselves that is beyond what I would expect for their age.  They are involved in so many activities that are not limited to just fullfilling their own wants and needs but community efforts as well.  As what usually happens on senior sessions, Mom, Dad and sister came with Miss S. for her shoot and I love that, becuase that is where I get so much of the information about these lovely people, the Mom’s are so darn proud of their children!  This was no exception, Mom told me about Miss S.’s accomplishments and her views on life today as a teenager; I was so impressed!  Thank you G family for hanging with me for the afternoon!

I have been working with Miss M. for awhile now and every time that I see her it is confirmed what a sweet, polite, talented and fun person she is!  She recently played the leading role in the ”Miracle Worker” at the Lancaster Opera House, I took my oldest daughter and two of her friends to see it, not only was I amazed at the stunning performance that she put on, but for three 10 year girls to sit and listen intently for the entire performance was another miracle!  They were in awe (as I was), of her completely realistic portrayal of Helen Keller, it had to be a very challenging role to say the least!!

Here are some of Miss M’s latest head-shots and a big thank you to some great friends for letting us invade your space for a couple of hours to do these ;)  And watch out, because you will probably see her making it big!!

I can not even begin to tell you how much I adored this High School Senior and her family!  Once again, the whole family came to the session and I just love that - Dad had even just returned from a trip to China and was so tired, but such a trooper!  Miss A. is not only beautiful on the outside but so beautiful on the inside as well.  She is so sweet and so talented, I was fortunate enough to hear her play the violin and was knocked off my feet by her talent!

I really enjoy photographing High School Seniors and this one was no exception!  I love to talk to them about their plans for the future, it amazes me the clear direction that they have, it also amazes me how busy they are at this age, I don’t know what we did b4 texting;)  !!! (Side-note, “texting” wants to auto-correct with spelling - ha, they need to add that to the new dictionary as an actual word!)   Miss H. was so adorable inside and out and I mean that, it was a true pleasure to meet her and her whole family!  A lot of times siblings and both Mom and Dad will come to the shoot - I love that, truly!

Had so much fun with this little guy and his parents!  We wandered around the park, talked, played and he showed me his rendition of Michael Buble!  It was very entertaining, I have some outtakes of it, he kind of looks like he is rapping to Michael Buble :) At the age of 2.5, I could not believe the clarity of his words!  He was a joy to be around and his parents were awesome too!

Purple is so in style!!

August 17, 2011

I just had to take my girls out to this field of purple wild flowers the other evening and have a little fun!  Believe it or not, they were willing participants (ok, it may have taken a little bribing of ice cream ;)  )!

Not sure where the time is going, but as the saying goes, I am sure that our children are growing up way too fast.  I’m trying to slow down from time to time to savor it and then the next time I turn around, there is another milestone in their lives and I have forgotten to document it.  This post is my reminder to slow down and savor because ice cream bribing is not going to last for too long as a negotiating tool!!!

Miss M. is always such a joy to work with and her Senior Portrait session was no exception! We actually had some funny, and not so funny tales to tell from this shoot - from the sand flies biting our ankles to me falling off a chair into to sand and never letting my camera even touch a spec of sand - oh yeah, it was quite the scene. Thank goodness the sand was thick and soft for me to land in, so no injuries to my body or my camera body!! Oh yeah and we were spoken to by a park ranger, it was all worth it though and we had fun!!

I absolutely love connecting with people and easing them through their overwhelmed emotions of getting modeling head-shots done.  This session was no exception to that and on top of it all, what a delightful, fun, beautiful and charming girl this is!  Thanks F family for finding me in cyberspace and I look forward to our family shoot together!!
