I remember when my sister and I used to occupy ourselves on a warm summer afternoon with low-tech solutions to boredom.  It was only 15 minutes after my girls got off the bus the other day that they announced to me, “I am bored Mom”.  My answer to them was something that I would have totally heard my Mother saying to my sister and I - “Go outside and find something to do, use your imagination.”  And so they did, out came the garden hose and umbrellas and the next two hours were spent expelling boredom and using their imagination.  They then proceeded to make  a handmade fort out of lounge chairs and beach towels on the porch - to which my youngest said “Mom, you have to come see this, Sissy is the best fort maker ever!!!”  When I called them for dinner, they replied with “Awwww, can’t we eat out here in our fort?”  Well, yes of course, so out came the trays with their dinners on them and they sat in their “awesome” fort and ate their dinner and talked and chuckled.  This photo says it all - seriously, this reminds me to thank the good Lord for all he has given me.

What a beautiful young woman she is, inside and out!  We faced a very odd weather day for this shoot, first rain, then wind, then sun, then a case of the muggies!  All in all though, we had a great afternoon and I really enjoyed spending a couple of hours in the afternoon with with Miss R. and her Mom!  We connected via La Belle Salon and I could not ask for more enjoyable, wonderful customers!  I LOVE the mother/daughter connection at this age and I can only hope for the same when my girls reach this beautiful age as well.  Thank you Miss R. for a wonderful afternoon and I look forward to our next shoot!
